The founder
Manoj Kumar Singh

Founder & Former Managing Director, ALS
One of the pioneers of IAS coaching in India, with over 25 years of experience shaping how aspirants prepare for the civil services. He was the first to bring a true corporate structure to the coaching industry, introducing structured seminars, test series and dedicated publications that became industry standards, and played a key role in making Mukherjee Nagar the “Mecca” of IAS preparation.
He is also the Managing Director of Competition Wizard, a leading magazine and publication house, and the author of many books for competitive exam aspirants. Across all institutions under his leadership, more than 40,000 aspirants have trained for IAS & PCS exams, producing 3,000+ IAS final results.
Today, through OneAcademy, ISGS and PrelimsFirst, he has returned with original programmes built separately for Prelims and Mains, including GS Main Mentors, Examiner and SwaStudy.
- 1999Founds MIPS, the start of his IAS training career.
- 2000Launches IAS coaching institutions with Y.D. Misra (History), Shashank (Geography) and Ranjana (Sociology).
- 2001Launches ISGS, the Indian School of General Studies.
- 2003Co-founds Alternative Learning Systems (ALS); AIR 1 in its very first year.
- 2005First Hindi-medium UPSC topper. ISGS expands into South Delhi.
- 2015ISGS expands to Pusa Road.
- 2023Founds OneAcademy Pvt Ltd.
- 2025Resigns as Managing Director of ALS after 22 years.
